Service Description
Students will refine their technique & learn some new skills. The three main topics covered will be: -Tweezing & trimming to produce thinner & more even walled vessels -Preparing & applying wraps to the lip or body of a vessel -Forming & applying functional and aesthetically pleasing handles Portions of this class will be drill heavy, and students can expect to work with clear glass a lot to refine shapes before moving on to adding color. This class is open to students who have previously taken a beginners class at Burnt Glassworks, or another equivalent class elsewhere that covered basic skills including: gathering from a furnace, marvering, thumbing a bubble, forming a jack line, forming a punty, and opening a vessel on a punty. A second beginners (level 2 or 3) class is highly encouraged, or 6 or more hours of additional studio time, before enrolling in an intermediate class. This class includes two 5 hour studio sessions - $360 April 18th & 19th, from 10am to 3 pm A deposit of $75 is required in order to register. The balance of $285 is due at the first class. The deposit is refundable until 10 days before class starts. In the event that you cannot attend one of the class dates due to unforeseen circumstances, a 60min private make-up class can be scheduled for another date. In the event that the class is canceled for any reason, the deposit will be refunded in it’s entirety.
